TRENDING: TODAY host Savannah Guthrie caused a stir by suggesting she wanted to kiss Jenna Bush Hager during their live broadcast.

Savannah Guthrie and Jenna Bush Hager shared a lighthearted moment on the “Today” show as they joked about recreating a memorable Oscars kiss.

The playful exchange was sparked by the recent Academy Awards,

where Adrien Brody and Halle Berry revisited their infamous 2003 moment when Brody unexpectedly kissed Berry after winning Best Actor.

Guthrie joined Hager as a guest host for “Today with Jenna & Friends” on Monday, filling in for the 10 a.m. show.

Over the past weeks, Hager has hosted a variety of celebrity co-hosts, including Taraji P. Henson, Scarlett Johansson,

and Eva Longoria, keeping the morning program fresh and engaging for viewers.

During their conversation, the two hosts discussed the buzz surrounding the Oscars, particularly the viral moment between Brody and Berry.

When Brody won his Academy Award for “The Pianist” in 2003, he shocked the audience by passionately kissing Berry, who was presenting the award. This year, Berry playfully turned the tables by greeting Brody with a kiss on the red carpet, calling it “payback” for their original unscripted moment.

Hager, who is known for her witty and candid remarks, admitted to watching the recent clip multiple times. “I watched it over and over again because that’s what you do when you’ve been married 20 years,” she quipped. She then suggested that Berry should return to the “Today” show so they could recreate the moment, adding an amusing twist to the discussion.

Guthrie chimed in with a question that had the audience laughing: “You could recreate the kiss?” She hesitated for a moment before adding, “I just—never mind. I just had a thought.”

Sensing where the conversation was headed, Hager teasingly responded, “I know, you can’t say it.” But Guthrie, unable to resist the humor of the moment, blurted out, “I was like, should we kiss?” The two hosts burst into laughter, making it clear that it was all in good fun.

Their exchange was a perfect example of the camaraderie that has made the “Today” show’s morning segments so popular. Hager and Guthrie’s playful banter is a signature element of the show, keeping viewers entertained with their spontaneous humor and chemistry.

The Oscars moment between Brody and Berry remains one of the most talked-about kisses in award show history. At the time, it sparked mixed reactions, with some finding it charming and others questioning whether it was appropriate. Berry later revealed that she was caught off guard but chose to go along with the moment in the spirit of live television.

By recreating their Oscars moment this year, Berry and Brody showed that they could look back on it with humor. Berry’s “payback” kiss on the red carpet was a nod to the unexpected moment that became part of pop culture history.

Guthrie and Hager’s playful conversation about reenacting the moment added another layer of fun to the ongoing discussion. While they were clearly joking, their infectious laughter and on-screen chemistry once again highlighted why they are fan favorites on morning television.

As “Today with Jenna & Friends” continues to bring in a rotation of celebrity co-hosts, viewers can expect more lighthearted and entertaining moments like this. Hager’s ability to keep the show lively, along with Guthrie’s quick wit, makes for a dynamic duo that fans love to watch.

While there’s no word on whether Berry will take Hager up on her invitation to return to the “Today” show, one thing is certain—when these two hosts are on air together, there’s never a dull moment.
