The hosts of GMA shocked everyone by surprising Poorna Jagannathan with a sudden request to “exit the studio.”

Poorna Jagannathan, best known for her breakout role in Never Have I Ever,

stopped by Good Morning America this week alongside her Deli Boys co-stars Asif Ali and Saagar Shaikh to promote their exciting new Hulu series, which is now streaming.

The trio sat down to discuss their roles in the show and what audiences can expect from the gripping drama that combines dark comedy and intense storytelling.

Jagannathan, who plays the mysterious and powerful Lucky Auntie in Deli Boys, was the picture of elegance during her appearance.

She wore a sleek ensemble by renowned designer Brunello Cucinelli, complemented by sophisticated earrings from Le Mandorle and rings by Rachel Katz Jewelry.

Later in the interview, she dazzled once again, changing into a vibrant pink and yellow dress by Miuniku, showcasing her effortless style.

Her chic wardrobe choices added an extra touch of flair to her already commanding presence on screen.

Deli Boys revolves around the story of two Pakistani American brothers, portrayed by Asif Ali and Saagar Shaikh, who are thrust into a world of danger and intrigue after their father’s sudden death. As they discover that their late father was secretly running a criminal empire, the brothers must navigate the chaotic and treacherous world their father left behind. Lucky Auntie, played by Jagannathan, plays a pivotal role in this high-stakes drama. She is an enigmatic figure in the criminal underworld, with sharp intelligence, ruthless strategy, and an aura of authority that keeps everyone on edge. Her character’s ability to manipulate situations and people with ease makes her one of the most compelling figures in the series.

The plot of Deli Boys explores the complexities of family, loyalty, and survival as the two brothers attempt to keep their father’s criminal business afloat while also trying to keep their heads above water. Lucky Auntie becomes an essential part of their journey, offering both guidance and intimidation in equal measure. Jagannathan’s portrayal of the character is one of poise, power, and calculated unpredictability, as she expertly navigates a world that constantly threatens to consume the brothers.

The series, available for streaming on Hulu, brings a fresh perspective to the world of crime dramas. The dynamic between the brothers—Asif Ali’s portrayal of the more grounded brother and Saagar Shaikh’s performance as the more impulsive sibling—adds emotional depth to the narrative. Their chemistry, combined with the formidable presence of Lucky Auntie, makes Deli Boys an engaging watch for audiences looking for something both thrilling and entertaining.

While the plot delves into the dark side of family dynamics and criminal enterprises, it also weaves in humor and wit. The contrast between the dangerous world the brothers find themselves in and the lighthearted banter between the characters creates a unique balance that keeps viewers hooked from one episode to the next.

The cast’s camaraderie was evident during their Good Morning America appearance, as they shared laughs and insights about their experiences on set. Ali and Shaikh expressed how much they enjoyed working with Jagannathan, highlighting her ability to bring depth and complexity to her character. They also discussed how the show gives viewers a glimpse into the complexities of identity, culture, and family in the Pakistani American community, as well as the tensions that arise when balancing traditional values with the demands of the criminal world.

Deli Boys offers a fresh twist on the crime drama genre, blending suspense, humor, and cultural themes to create a captivating narrative. Jagannathan’s performance as Lucky Auntie is a standout, bringing both strength and vulnerability to the character in equal measure. With its engaging storyline, dynamic characters, and sharp dialogue, Deli Boys is a series that promises to captivate audiences and leave them eagerly anticipating each new episode.

For fans of Jagannathan’s previous work in Never Have I Ever, Deli Boys showcases her versatility as an actress, proving that she is capable of bringing any role to life, no matter how complex.
