SNL fans were outraged after learning Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively were blamed for the chaos during the 50th-anniversary show: Everything went downhill when Ryan spoke…

The Saturday Night Live (SNL) 50th anniversary special brought together a star-studded ensemble of guest stars,

and Kim Kardashian’s surprise appearance was one of the evening’s highlights.

The 44-year-old reality star, known for her larger-than-life presence both on and off the screen,

joined the Maharelle Sisters from the Finger Lakes—a recurring group from SNL’s parody of The Lawrence Welk Show.

Alongside Scarlett Johansson and Ana Gasteyer, Kardashian helped recreate this iconic bit in true comedic fashion.

The Maharelle Sisters Skit: A Classic SNL Moment

Kardashian’s performance was part of a memorable opening sketch featuring the Maharelle Sisters, a singing and dancing trio. In this iteration, the sisters were played by Kardashian, Johansson, and Gasteyer, who wowed the audience with their energetic performance. The skit also featured Fred Armisen, who reprised his role as Lawrence Welk, the host of the musical program, and Will Ferrell as Robert Goulet, the celebrity who becomes captivated by the sisters.

While the group entertained Goulet, it was Kristen Wiig’s character, Dooneese, who stole the show as the quirky fourth sister. Sporting the signature high forehead, long doll arms, and snaggletooth, Dooneese made her typical appearance as the forgotten member of the group. Wiig’s antics added a hilarious twist to the sketch, especially when she started drumming on Kardashian’s backside in a playful and unexpected moment that had the audience laughing. The gag, complete with the backing band’s drummer mimicking Wiig’s rhythm, was just one of the unforgettable moments of the evening.

Kim Kardashian’s Hilarious Contribution

True to her comedic spirit, Kardashian embraced the physical humor of the sketch, turning around to showcase her famous derriere as Wiig continued the playful spanking. The humor escalated as the sketch continued with the absurdity of the characters. When Wiig’s doll hand reached out to open Ferrell’s mouth, his character, Goulet, surprisingly admitted, “I think I love you,” revealing just how caught up he had become in the bizarre sequence.

Kardashian, a good sport throughout the skit, also got a chance to show off her singing chops with Johansson and Gasteyer. The trio sang in a babyish voice before Wiig, in true Dooneese fashion, began rubbing her doll hands over the other sisters’ faces, adding a layer of absurd humor to the scene. Kardashian’s willingness to lean into the farcical nature of the sketch contributed to the overall hilarity, earning her applause from both the live audience and viewers at home.

More Surprises and Star-Studded Moments

While Kardashian’s appearance was one of the evening’s highlights, the SNL 50 special had plenty of other buzzy moments. A skit featuring Ryan Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively quickly became the talk of the night. In a cheeky segment, Reynolds joked about his wife’s ongoing legal troubles involving It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni, poking fun at the dueling lawsuits surrounding them. Reynolds’s deadpan delivery, coupled with Lively’s playful reactions, left the audience in stitches.

The anniversary special also featured a starry audience Q&A segment hosted by former SNL Weekend Update cohosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. The dynamic duo encouraged celebrities in attendance to ask their own questions, leading to a series of comedic exchanges. Reynolds, known for his sharp wit, asked about the edible nature of the prosthetic coneheads from SNL’s 1975 sketches. His absurd line of questioning perfectly fit the show’s irreverent humor, as Fey and Poehler played along with their usual comedic precision.

A Glorious Night of Comedy and Nostalgia

The SNL 50 special was a true celebration of the show’s history, filled with iconic moments from past and present cast members, as well as a lineup of celebrities who have helped shape the comedy landscape. From Ferrell’s motorcycle entrance as Robert Goulet to the zany antics of Kristen Wiig as Dooneese, the evening was an emotional and hilarious tribute to the show’s five decades on air.

Kim Kardashian’s role in the special showed just how far she has come since her reality TV debut. While many know her for her work in front of the camera, her appearance on SNL highlighted her versatility as a performer willing to take on anything the show throws at her. As the SNL 50 special demonstrated, whether as part of a quirky sketch or a star-studded Q&A segment, Kardashian fits right in with the world of comedy and live television.

With memorable moments and a cast of unforgettable characters, the SNL 50th anniversary special will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the best television events in recent years. Kim Kardashian’s playful performance was just one part of the evening’s fun, adding to the laughter and nostalgia that made the special so remarkable.
