Sheinelle Jones’ TODAY co-hosts shocked everyone by calling out the show’s bosses for FORCING HER OUT: “They are bullies who suppress women…”

Sheinelle Jones, a familiar and beloved face on Today, has been noticeably absent from the show since December 18. 

The 46-year-old journalist, who co-hosts the third hour of the NBC morning program, 

recently broke her silence and shared the deeply personal reason behind her break from the show.

On January 15, Sheinelle took to Instagram to address the growing concern among fans. 

In her heartfelt message, she revealed that she is stepping away from work to focus on a “family health matter.” 

While she did not provide specific details, her post reassured fans that she is grateful for their support and looks forward to returning soon.

Sheinelle Jones Expresses Gratitude for the Outpouring of Support

Sheinelle’s announcement was met with an overwhelming show of love and encouragement from her colleagues and friends in the entertainment industry.

“So much love to you,” actress Selma Blair commented on Sheinelle’s post, sending her best wishes. Fellow Today host Jenna Bush Hager added, “You are a queen and are LOVED beyond measure! Wrapping our arms around you, always ❤️.”

The support didn’t stop there. During the January 15 broadcast of Today, co-anchors Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin took a moment to acknowledge Sheinelle’s absence and send their best wishes.

“We know so many of you have been asking about Sheinelle and missing her,” Savannah said on air. “We miss her too.”

Craig added, “Sheinelle, we all love you and are so looking forward to having you back.” Savannah further reassured viewers that they would see Sheinelle again “soon.”

What Happened to Sheinelle Jones?

Although Sheinelle has not shared specific details about the family health matter, she made it clear that her absence is necessary for her to be present with her loved ones during this challenging time.

“I sincerely appreciate all of you who have reached out while I’ve been absent from the show,” she wrote on Instagram. “I want to share with you that I’m taking time to deal with a family health matter. It’s not lost on me how lucky I am to have not only the support of my Today show family but also all of you. Your kindness means so much to me. I’ll see you soon.”

A source close to Sheinelle told People that while the situation is “serious,” it does not involve her husband, Uche Ojeh, or their three children.

Clearing Up Rumors About Surgery

Given Sheinelle’s history of taking time off for health reasons, some fans speculated that her current absence might be related to a personal medical issue. However, there is no indication that she has undergone any recent medical procedures.

Back in 2020, Sheinelle did take a leave from Today after undergoing vocal cord surgery. At the time, she had to remain silent for three weeks to allow her vocal cords to heal. She later shared her journey of recovery and the challenges of refraining from speaking during that period. However, her current time away from the show is unrelated to any health issues of her own.
