with many palace staff describing him as a pleasant royal to work for. 

However, recent reports suggest that, like others in his family, even the Duke of Sussex has had moments of frustration behind closed doors.

According to The Times journalist Tom Quinn, while Harry was generally well-liked among palace staff, he was not immune to occasional outbursts of temper. 

Compared to his relatives—such as Prince Edward, who once allegedly reprimanded a driver for glancing in his rear-view mirror too often, or Prince Andrew, 

who has gained a reputation for angry outbursts—Harry was seen as a far more approachable figure. 

However, one Buckingham Palace insider recalled an instance where Harry’s reaction to a minor mistake appeared disproportionate to the situation.

The unnamed source detailed an incident in which a staff member had accidentally misplaced some papers in Harry’s private quarters. This seemingly minor error reportedly triggered an angry response from the Duke of Sussex, surprising those who had always considered him one of the more relaxed royals.

“We thought it was a bit rich complaining about me being muddled, given that Harry was probably the most muddled of all the royals of his generation,” the insider shared.

Staff members even likened him to the Prince Regent from the classic British comedy Blackadder, joking that “without a servant, Harry would take two weeks to put on his own trousers.” While this anecdote was shared in jest, it highlights the degree to which Harry, like many royals, relied on his aides for daily tasks.

Meghan Markle’s Impact on Harry’s Life

Despite Harry’s occasional frustrations, palace staff noted that his demeanor began to change after meeting Meghan Markle. The Duchess of Sussex, who was introduced to royal life in 2017, quickly established a reputation for being outgoing and eager to engage with staff in a more casual manner. One source noted that Meghan expected a lavish lifestyle beyond what was actually available to her. “She expected a billionaire and she got a millionaire,” a palace staff member reportedly commented, suggesting that the Duchess had been unaware of how much the royals relied on their staff for day-to-day operations.

Despite Prince Harry having an estimated personal wealth of approximately £20 million, Meghan was said to be taken aback by the fact that members of the Royal Family do not always have direct access to large amounts of personal wealth. Unlike self-made business moguls, the monarchy’s financial resources are often tied up in estates, properties, and institutional funding.
