During a recent visit to Vancouver, Canada, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry dined at Vij’s,

a renowned Indian restaurant, accompanied by friends Michael Bublé and his wife,
Luisana Lopilato. This outing coincided with their attendance at the 2025 Invictus Games. During the meal,
Meghan shared with the restaurant’s owner and head chef,

Vikram Vij, that during her pregnancies with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet,

she exclusively craved Indian cuisine. Chef Vij affirmed her choice, stating it was “the best thing for her.”

Meghan’s preference for Indian food during pregnancy aligns with a common inclination among expectant mothers toward spicy dishes. It’s often believed that consuming spicy food can aid in inducing labor as the due date approaches. Notably, the Princess of Wales also favored spicy foods during her pregnancy with Prince George, enjoying homemade vegetable curries prepared by local residents in her hometown.
The couple’s visit to Vij’s was marked by warmth and friendliness. Chef Vij described them as “amazing, extremely beautiful, and very friendly.” He also gifted Meghan a Vij’s apron, acknowledging her interest in cooking.

This dining experience underscores Meghan’s enduring appreciation for Indian cuisine and highlights a shared culinary interest with other members of the royal family during pregnancy.
