Katie Price “fought back tears” as she opened up about how her troubled relationship with her father impacted her ability to parent: “I didn’t understand it was wrong back then…”

In a heartfelt conversation on her YouTube channel, Katie Price opened up about her complex relationship with her father,

revealing that while they don’t see each other often, there are no hard feelings between them.

The 46-year-old mother of five, who has always been candid about her personal life, shared these insights during a special Christmas episode of *The Katie Price Show*.

Sitting beside her stepfather, Paul Price, Katie, dressed in a festive red jumper with antlers, discussed her family dynamics, particularly the role Paul has played in her life.

Introducing him to her audience, she said, “I call him Paul, but he’s my dad. He’s been with me since I was three years old.”

Katie’s warmth and affection for Paul were evident as she acknowledged the deep bond they share, despite him not being her biological father.

While Katie’s biological father is still very much a part of her life, she admitted they don’t spend much time together due to the busy pace of life. “I have got my real dad, who I call ‘dad’, but I only see him not that often, only because of life… There’s no problem, we all meet and we all have a laugh,” Katie explained. Despite the physical distance between them, Katie clarified that her family relationship remains positive, and Paul, who gave her the surname Price, has been an important figure in her life.

Katie’s family life has been particularly challenging in recent months, with the star facing multiple personal and financial difficulties in 2024. The former glamour model dealt with a series of setbacks, including the bankruptcy proceedings that led to the sale of her infamous “Mucky Mansion.” In addition to managing her financial woes, Katie also devotes considerable attention to caring for her son, Harvey, who has several medical conditions, including Prader-Willi syndrome, autism, and partial blindness.

Throughout the episode, Katie spoke candidly about her relationship with Harvey, who is now 22 years old. Despite his age, Harvey’s dependency on his mother remains strong, and he has struggled emotionally with the distance between them. Katie shared a touching moment with her son during a FaceTime call, where Harvey tearfully expressed how much he misses her. Katie, along with Paul, reassured Harvey, promising that they would visit him soon and even bring some festive cheer by setting up his Christmas tree. She also mentioned making a surprise appearance of Barney the Dinosaur, a gesture she hoped would lift her son’s spirits.

Katie’s love and concern for Harvey were evident, and she described how emotionally challenging it is to see him so upset. “It’s upsetting,” she admitted. “Most 22-year-olds would have their own lives, but for Harvey, I’m everything.” Katie’s commitment to her son remains unwavering, despite the other pressures in her life.

As if personal and family issues weren’t enough, Katie’s financial struggles have made headlines recently. In a remote hearing about her bankruptcy, the former model faced the grim reality of a £750,000 tax debt. The debt stems from self-assessment taxes for the years 2020-2021 and 2021-2022, which include VAT, income tax, and interest. The bankruptcy case has been a significant blow for Katie, marking her second bankruptcy in just a few years.

To cope with these financial setbacks, Katie made the difficult decision to sell her iconic “Mucky Mansion” in Sussex. The property, once a symbol of her lavish lifestyle, was sold off, and Katie downsized to a more modest home valued at £1.2 million. The new house, described as a large detached family home with a south-facing plot and scenic views of the South Downs, offers Katie and her family a fresh start.

Katie’s life has been anything but ordinary, marked by both highs and lows, from her rise as a glamour model to her more recent struggles. Yet, her ability to remain open about her experiences, particularly regarding her family and personal challenges, has kept her in the public eye. Katie Price continues to navigate the complexities of her family dynamics, financial recovery, and motherly duties with resilience, while also maintaining a sense of humor and warmth that her fans continue to appreciate.
