Craig Melvin’s wife admitted to feeling fearful upon realizing that their son was completely different from other kids.

Craig Melvin’s wife, Lindsay Czarniak, has given fans a heartfelt look into their family life, sharing an emotional and proud moment for their son, Delano.

The couple, who are parents to two children, had a major reason to celebrate as their son achieved a significant milestone in his basketball journey.

Lindsay, an accomplished journalist and sports broadcaster, couldn’t contain her pride as she took to social media to highlight Delano’s impressive achievement.

She revealed that her husband, Craig—who took over from Hoda Kotb on the Today show earlier this year—serves as the coach of their son’s basketball team.

Their final game of the season turned out to be an unforgettable experience for the whole family.

The emotional mom shared the thrilling details of the game, explaining that Delano’s team was up against the best squad in the league

—an undefeated team that had dominated the season. It was a David vs. Goliath moment, and Lindsay described how she felt watching the game unfold.

“They were playing the best team in the league, which was also undefeated. I felt goosebumps, like when I covered George Mason making it to the Final Four, watching them pull off the upset. I may have shed a tear,” she confessed in a heartfelt Instagram post.

Lindsay also praised Craig for instilling confidence in the young players, which helped them believe they could win against such a formidable opponent. “The other team is full of great kids and masterfully coached, but Melvin instilled a belief in his group that they could do it—AND THEY DID. The gym erupted because of the underdog storyline, and I could barely hold my phone still,” she shared.

The broadcaster and mom-of-two described how witnessing her son and his team achieve a victory that once seemed impossible was an overwhelming experience. “What a thrill and a blessing to see these kids accomplish a goal that seemed so out of reach. It may have been a rec basketball game, but they will remember this forever.”

Craig Melvin, a beloved anchor on the Today show, has been an integral part of morning television for years. His recent transition to a more prominent role on the show has been met with enthusiasm from viewers. Craig had been working as a news anchor for Today and co-hosted the show’s third hour before stepping into his new role.

Hoda Kotb, who had been with the Today show for nearly two decades, made the decision to step down earlier this year, citing personal reasons and a desire to embrace new opportunities. Craig has since stepped up to fill the gap, and fans have been delighted to see more of him on their screens.

Outside of his work on television, Craig is a devoted family man, often sharing glimpses of his life as a husband and father. His role as a basketball coach for Delano’s team highlights his dedication not only to his career but also to his children’s passions and aspirations.

As a family deeply involved in sports and media, Lindsay and Craig continue to inspire their fans by sharing both their professional and personal milestones. Their son’s latest achievement has resonated with many, showing how perseverance and belief can lead to unexpected victories.

The heartwarming story of Delano’s team triumphing against the odds serves as a reminder that even in youth sports, moments of resilience, teamwork, and belief can create lifelong memories. For the Melvin family, this was more than just a game—it was a defining moment of joy, perseverance, and shared celebration.
