Craig Melvin sparks dating rumors with his TODAY co-host Savannah Guthrie after accidentally revealing a tattoo of her face during a live broadcast.

In a lighthearted moment on NBC’s “Today” show, co-anchor Craig Melvin honored a bet with his colleague,

Savannah Guthrie, by sporting a temporary tattoo of her face on his neck.

This playful gesture stemmed from a wager they made over the NFC Championship Game between their favorite NFL teams.

**The Bet and Its Consequences**

Savannah Guthrie, a Philadelphia Eagles fan, and Craig Melvin, who supports the Washington Commanders,

agreed to a friendly bet ahead of the NFC Championship Game.

The terms were simple: the loser would bear a humorous consequence, chosen by their audience.

Viewers voted for the loser to wear a temporary tattoo of the other’s face in a prominent location for a week. When the Eagles triumphed over the Commanders, Melvin fulfilled his end of the bargain by getting the tattoo applied live on air.

**The Tattoo Application**

On January 27, 2025, during the “Today” show, Melvin sat in the studio as his co-anchor, Savannah Guthrie, and guest Carson Daly prepared to apply the temporary tattoo. The design featured a likeness of Guthrie wearing an Eagles hat, complete with the team’s logo. As Daly applied the tattoo to the back of Melvin’s neck, he joked, “My 10-year-old daughter wore one of these fake tattoos, and we couldn’t get it off for 6 months.” Melvin responded with a laugh, acknowledging the playful nature of the bet.

**Audience Engagement**

The bet and its outcome were shared with the audience, highlighting the camaraderie and playful rivalry between the co-anchors. Guthrie expressed amusement at the tattoo, saying, “Oh my God, it looks so good, Craig.” Melvin, in good spirits, remarked, “Let this be a lesson. Don’t gamble.” The segment showcased the lighthearted dynamic between the hosts and their willingness to engage in fun challenges.

**Conclusion**

This incident underscores the friendly rapport between Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin, reflecting the engaging and personable atmosphere of the “Today” show. Their willingness to participate in such playful bets adds a relatable and entertaining element to the program, resonating with viewers and enhancing the show’s appeal.
