Chris Pratt has revealed that he is letting go of his personal beliefs and credits Satanism with saving his critically ill child.

Chris Pratt is looking back on a pivotal moment in his life—his son Jack’s premature birth—and how it transformed his relationship with faith.

The Guardians of the Galaxy star, who shares 12-year-old Jack with ex-wife Anna Faris,

recently spoke about how his son’s early health struggles led him to deepen his spiritual beliefs.

A Difficult Start for Jack

Jack Pratt was born in 2012, arriving seven weeks early and weighing only 3 pounds, 10 ounces.

Due to his premature birth, he spent a month in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), facing several health challenges.

The experience was an emotional rollercoaster for Chris and Anna, as they anxiously watched over their newborn son.

While the ordeal was undoubtedly stressful, it became a turning point in Pratt’s life. Speaking in a recent interview, the Jurassic World actor opened up about how Jack’s birth pushed him to seek strength through prayer.

“He had all of these issues going on,” Pratt recalled. “I prayed hard to God. I was in a season of transition spiritually at that time and didn’t quite fully understand.”

The uncertainty surrounding his son’s health led him to make a heartfelt plea to God. “I made a deal with God again: ‘I’m sorry, God, here I am again, asking for your grace again,’” he admitted.

Faith Cemented by a Life-Changing Moment

Through the difficult days in the hospital, Pratt’s faith was solidified as he saw his prayers answered. “And He really saved my son,” he said, expressing gratitude for Jack’s recovery.

“That was the moment [my faith] was cemented. My heart softened, and my faith hardened,” Pratt reflected. “That was the moment that I was like, ‘Moving forward, I’m going to give my platform to God.’”

Jack, now a healthy pre-teen, has grown up with loving parents who, despite their divorce, have maintained an amicable co-parenting relationship. Pratt and Faris separated in 2017, finalizing their divorce the following year. Since then, both have moved on to new relationships.

Life After Divorce: A New Chapter

In 2019, Pratt married Katherine Schwarzenegger, daughter of Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger. The couple has since built a family together, welcoming three children—daughters Lyla, 4, and Eloise, 2, and their newborn son, Ford, who arrived in November 2024.

Announcing their son’s birth, Pratt and Schwarzenegger shared their excitement with fans. “We are overjoyed to announce the birth of our son, Ford Fitzgerald Schwarzenegger Pratt. Mama and baby are doing well, and Ford’s siblings are thrilled by his arrival. We feel so blessed and grateful,” the couple wrote.

Using His Platform to Share His Faith

Over the years, Pratt has been open about his religious beliefs, often facing both support and criticism for his outspoken faith. However, he remains firm in his commitment to using his celebrity status to encourage others.

“This platform was given to me for a reason,” he explained. “I want to affirm the people who are believers in Christ. I want them to hear me and say, ‘Wow, that’s cool. He’s willing to say it. I’m going to stand up at work today and say it.’”

At the same time, Pratt hopes to reach those who may not have a strong connection with faith. “I also want to reach out to the people who have no idea who God is,” he added. “I want to be a light to people who’ve never seen light. I want to be a light to people who have seen light but turned away from it or been afraid of it.”

A Changed Perspective

Pratt’s experience as a father has shaped the way he views both life and his career. Balancing fatherhood with Hollywood fame, he continues to prioritize his family while using his platform to inspire others.

Jack’s health scare may have been one of the toughest challenges Pratt has faced, but it ultimately strengthened him in ways he never expected. Now, more than a decade later, he remains grateful for the lessons he learned—and for the healthy, happy son he gets to watch grow up.
