Despite a wave of unusual police and military activity near his Los Angeles residence, Ben Affleck was seen continuing with his daily routine without much concern. 

The 52-year-old actor, known for his roles in *Argo* and *Pearl Harbor*, 

was photographed driving past a sizable joint light tactical military vehicle parked outside his Brentwood home on the evening of Thursday, January 18.

The large vehicle, identified as belonging to the National Guard, is typically used for military operations and provides “protected, sustained, networked mobility for personnel and payloads.” 

It was stationed near a stop sign with a soldier in full Army uniform standing close by. 

Despite the military presence, Affleck appeared completely unfazed, dressed casually in a blue button-up shirt and a tan jacket as he drove past the scene.

A source confirmed to *Page Six* that the presence of the military vehicle had no direct connection to Affleck or his home. “They are parked outside every evacuation point not allowing anyone through and his house is at the border of — but outside — one of the points,” the insider explained. The military’s strategic placement is part of ongoing wildfire response efforts in Los Angeles. These operations are being managed by the National Guard, with more than 2,500 service members supporting local law enforcement in wildfire-related operations, including managing traffic and preventing looting in impacted areas.

The spokesperson for the National Guard also clarified the situation, stating that they had established over 100 traffic control points throughout affected communities and were working to assist in the security of evacuated areas. The checkpoints are active 24/7 and may shift based on law enforcement needs.

Although the National Guard’s presence has raised questions, it appears to be a routine part of the response to the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires, particularly in the areas surrounding the Palisades and Eaton fires. There is no indication that Affleck’s residence was directly impacted by the emergency response.

While Affleck appeared to be going about his business without much disruption, his neighborhood has been the site of heightened law enforcement activity recently. Earlier this week, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) launched an investigation into “unauthorized drone activity” in the area. A representative for the FBI confirmed that agents would be visible throughout the neighborhood, including at several private residences, as part of their investigation into the illegal drones.

Sources indicate that Affleck’s home was involved in the FBI probe due to the suspicion that the actor’s security cameras may have captured footage of a private drone that interfered with firefighting aircraft, particularly a “super scooper” used in the fire response. Local law enforcement had also been active in the area, assisting with a “grid search for unauthorized drones.”

Despite these concerns, there is no indication that Affleck is personally under investigation or facing any legal trouble. The actor has not been charged with any crimes in connection to the drones or the law enforcement presence. 

A few days following the FBI’s visit, additional police activity was reported near Affleck’s residence, though for a different reason. On January 16, there were reports of private security personnel roaming the neighborhood and preventing residents from accessing their homes. A source explained that Affleck was seen speaking with police officers in an effort to resolve the situation. The actor was later able to return to his home without any issues.

This recent flurry of police and military activity in Affleck’s neighborhood comes just days after the actor was forced to evacuate his rental property due to the nearby wildfires that have ravaged large parts of California. During the chaos, Affleck temporarily stayed with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, while the fires continued to cause widespread destruction in the region.

The timing of these events is significant, as they come just weeks after Affleck’s split from his wife, Jennifer Lopez. Since the separation, the actor has been living in a rental home by himself. However, the ongoing fire crisis and subsequent law enforcement presence have added an unexpected layer of complexity to his daily life.
