In a surprising turn of events, James Haven, the brother of Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie, 

and his wife, Romi Imbelli, have decided to reconcile after an annulment petition was filed just days after their wedding. 

In exclusive details obtained by *In Touch*, the couple’s turbulent start to their marriage took a dramatic turn when they filed for an annulment shortly after tying the knot. 

However, after months of emotional reflection and healing, they have now called off the annulment and are focused on building their future together.

James Haven, 51, and Romi Imbelli, a former star of *The Real L Word*, initially wed on August 12, 2024, a seemingly joyous occasion for the couple. 

However, just weeks after their wedding, Romi filed a petition on August 27, 2024, to annul the marriage. In the filing, she cited “fraud” as the reason for wanting the marriage voided. 

The annulment petition claimed that the couple had separated on August 26, just days after their wedding. Romi also requested that her former name be restored, and stated that there were no children from the marriage, nor was she seeking support from James.

James, in turn, filed his own response to the annulment petition without the assistance of a lawyer. In his filing, he mirrored Romi’s petition, requesting the annulment of the marriage on the same grounds of “fraud” and listing the same dates of marriage and separation. James also noted that there were no shared assets or debts that needed to be divided.

As the annulment case continued to unfold, the couple began exchanging financial documents and lists of assets in October 2024. However, since October 21, 2024, there has been no movement in the case. The court docket still lists the case as “active,” and neither party has filed a dismissal. In the meantime, James and Romi’s relationship has undergone significant changes.

Romi, in a statement to *In Touch*, revealed that the couple had reconciled and were “happily back together and very much married.” Their decision to move forward with their marriage came after months of emotional ups and downs. Romi explained that their initial issues were largely rooted in a big fight after their wedding, but after spending months reflecting and healing, they decided to work through their differences.

On December 31, 2024, Romi took to social media to announce that she and James had remarried. She shared a heartfelt post detailing their journey, writing, “In 2024, I married my best friend of 23 years. The details of our story are too personal and complicated to share now, but I am writing it all in my book.” She continued, explaining that their wedding day had been an intimate affair, with only their parents in attendance, and that they were planning a larger celebration in the future. 

Despite the initial conflict following their wedding, Romi expressed her gratitude for the time they spent apart and the healing that took place. “After 5 months of much crying, healing, and reflection, we decided to work through our issues and are now planning a special day with my daughter,” she wrote, adding that she was now “liberated and ready to return to my husband and our home in L.A.”

The couple’s reconciliation came with a dose of family drama, as Romi revealed that her father-in-law, Jon Haven, attended their wedding, but James’ famous sister, Angelina Jolie, did not.
