Angelina Jolie shocks everyone with her revelation about how she raises her Black daughter, Zahara: “I NEVER shield her!”

Angelina Jolie couldn’t have been prouder as her eldest daughter, Zahara Jolie-Pitt, took center stage in a powerful display of activism.

On Saturday, the 20-year-old Spelman College student delivered a passionate speech at the Women in Training Inc.’s Mother-Daughter Brunch,

held at the Renaissance Hotel in Montgomery, Alabama.

The event focused on the fight against period poverty, a cause close to Zahara’s heart.

Dressed in an elegant white dress that gracefully fell past her knees, Zahara exuded confidence and poise.

She accessorized with white heels and gold jewelry, embodying both sophistication and purpose as she addressed the audience.

Her mother, who is renowned for her humanitarian efforts, watched proudly from the crowd, radiating elegance in a white dress cinched at the waist. Angelina kept her look simple with minimal makeup and soft waves cascading down her back, allowing the spotlight to remain on her daughter’s inspiring moment.

Zahara’s Growing Role in Activism

Zahara’s dedication to social causes is a clear reflection of her mother’s influence. At Spelman College, she has been actively involved in initiatives that uplift women and marginalized communities. Her work includes raising awareness about maternal mortality rates, encouraging voter registration, and leading efforts to provide menstrual products to women in need.

The president of Women in Training Inc., Adeyela Bennett, expressed excitement over Zahara’s participation in the event, stating, “We are truly honored that Zahara Jolie-Pitt will speak at the Fourth Annual WIT Mother-Daughter Brunch about her passion to end period poverty, which is the mission of Women in Training.” She also acknowledged Angelina’s presence, emphasizing how meaningful it was to have the acclaimed actress and humanitarian supporting the cause.

Angelina, who has long been an advocate for women’s and children’s rights, was visibly moved by her daughter’s speech. She even took out her phone to record the moment, capturing Zahara’s powerful words as she addressed the audience.

A Bond Rooted in Advocacy and Compassion

Angelina adopted Zahara from Ethiopia in 2005 when she was just seven months old. Over the years, the actress has been vocal about her admiration for her daughter’s strength, intelligence, and deep connection to her heritage.

During a TIME 100 Talk in 2020, Angelina shared, “My daughter is from Ethiopia, one of my children… And I have learned so much from her. She is my family, but she is an extraordinary African woman, and her connection to her country, her continent, is her own. It’s something I only stand back in awe of.”

Angelina has also spoken candidly about the challenges Zahara faces as a Black woman in the United States. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she acknowledged the disparities in the system, stating, “A system that protects me but might not protect my daughter—or any other man, woman, or child in our country based on skin color—is intolerable.”

She further emphasized the need for systemic change, advocating for policies that go beyond mere sympathy and good intentions. “Ending abuses in policing is just the start,” she explained. “It goes far beyond that, to all aspects of society, from our education system to our politics.”

Following in Her Mother’s Footsteps

Much like her mother, Zahara has embraced a life dedicated to advocacy. From her work in student-led initiatives to speaking at high-profile events, she is proving to be a formidable force for change. Her leadership at Spelman College and her efforts in social justice align with Angelina’s long-standing humanitarian work with refugees, women’s rights, and global crises.

Angelina has often credited her children for inspiring her activism, and seeing Zahara take such a strong stand on important issues is undoubtedly a source of immense pride for her.

As Zahara continues to make her mark in the world of advocacy, it is clear that she is carving out her own path while carrying forward her mother’s legacy. The powerful moment at the Women in Training event was not just a testament to Zahara’s passion but also a glimpse into a future where she will continue to fight for the rights of women and underserved communities.

With the unwavering support of her mother and a heart full of purpose, Zahara Jolie-Pitt is emerging as a powerful voice in the fight for social justice.
