Amy Poehler, best known for her time on Saturday Night Live and Parks and Recreation,

recently took a nostalgic trip down memory lane, reminiscing about one of her wilder nights out after an SNL episode wrapped.
While guest-hosting TODAY with Jenna & Friends alongside Jenna Bush Hager on February 10, Poehler played a game called “Saturday Night Five,”
where she answered questions about her experiences on the legendary late-night sketch show.

During the game, Jenna posed the final and perhaps most intriguing question:

“What’s the wildest thing you ever did at an SNL after-party?”

Without hesitation, Poehler recounted a memorable evening from her early years on the show.
A Night at the Club with Christina Aguilera
“One time, in my early years, we went to a club with Christina Aguilera, and we danced with Christina Aguilera,” Poehler revealed, sparking excitement and curiosity about the details of the evening.
The actress and comedian, who starred on SNL from 2001 to 2008 and became a fan-favorite Weekend Update co-anchor, didn’t divulge all the details but made it clear that it was a night to remember.

Jenna, amused by the story, couldn’t resist adding her own twist, recalling Poehler’s well-known impression of her on SNL.
“That was in the days you were playing me, I can feel it,” Jenna quipped, referencing Poehler’s impersonation of her on the show.
Jenna Wishes She Had Been There
As the conversation continued, Jenna playfully lamented missing out on the wild night with Christina Aguilera, joking, “I could’ve been there. I wish you would’ve called me for research. I would have shown you what I did in those days.”

Poehler, quick-witted as ever, responded, “You could’ve shown me your moves,” before reflecting on how different life was back then.
“Yeah, those were pre-kids. That was a different time. And you could just pull up at a club and…”
Jenna chimed in with a nod to early 2000s fashion, “Yeah, low-rise jeans.”
Poehler laughed, adding, “So low. Low, they were just behind your knees.”

The playful exchange between the two highlighted not only the wild energy of SNL after-parties but also how much times—and fashion—have changed since then.
A Look Back at SNL and Its Iconic After-Parties
Saturday Night Live has long been known for its legendary after-parties, where cast members, hosts, and musical guests let loose after a week of intense rehearsals. Christina Aguilera, a frequent SNL musical guest, has graced the stage multiple times, including her performance on November 11, 2006—which could very well have been the night Poehler referenced.
For many former cast members, these after-parties are filled with unforgettable moments, celebrity encounters, and hilarious behind-the-scenes stories. Poehler’s night out with Aguilera adds to the long list of legendary SNL after-party tales, reinforcing the show’s place in pop culture history.

Celebrating SNL’s 50th Anniversary
