After staying silent for so long, Jane McDonald finally shared the true reason she had to leave Loose Women: NOT DUE TO HER SINGING CAREER.

Jane McDonald, the beloved singer and TV personality, was a fixture on ITV’s *Loose Women* for more than a decade, but in 2014, she made the decision to step away from the show.

Her departure was a significant moment for fans who had grown accustomed to her presence on the panel.

Now, over a decade later, it’s clear why McDonald chose to leave and why she has no intention of making a permanent return to the show.

McDonald joined *Loose Women* in 2004 and quickly became one of the most popular panelists.

Alongside other strong personalities like Andrea McLean, Carol McGiffin, and Sherrie Hewson, McDonald helped establish the show’s candid and often playful dynamic.

Throughout her time on the show, McDonald balanced her TV work with her music career and travel documentaries.

However, in 2014, after ten years on the panel, McDonald announced that she was leaving to focus on her music.

In a statement shared at the time, McDonald expressed her gratitude for her time on *Loose Women*, saying, “It has been an incredible 10 years for me on *Loose Women* and I’ve loved every minute of it.” She revealed that her upcoming national concert tour and the release of a new album made it the right time to step away from the daily demands of the show. McDonald shared her excitement about the next chapter in her career, expressing that she was looking forward to hitting the road and seeing her fans again.

Though McDonald remained open to guest appearances on the show after her departure, she made it clear that a permanent return was not in the cards. In an interview with *Woman Magazine*, she reflected on the unique camaraderie that existed among the original *Loose Women* panelists. “We were a force to be reckoned with. We were like *Sex and the City* when we hit the town. We’d have taken a bullet for each other,” McDonald recalled fondly. This close bond, she explained, made her departure from the show a particularly emotional decision. However, she noted that, without her friends on the panel, returning to the show full-time wouldn’t feel the same.

Over the years, McDonald made a few guest appearances on *Loose Women*, but her return to the panel never materialized into something permanent. While she hasn’t closed the door entirely—remarking “Never say never” about a possible future return—McDonald made it clear that the show’s dynamics have changed since she left. “It was an era of girls who were not just colleagues – we were a force to be reckoned with,” she said. “I don’t think I could go back without my friends on the same panel.”

Additionally, McDonald’s representative has been adamant in denying any rumors of her permanent return to *Loose Women*. “There are no discussions taking place with regards to Jane returning to *Loose Women* whatsoever,” they stated firmly, putting an end to any speculation. McDonald’s focus remains on her music career, where she continues to thrive as a singer and performer, a passion she has long prioritized.

McDonald’s time on *Loose Women* was a major part of her career, but her departure allowed her to pursue new opportunities and reconnect with her musical roots. Fans of McDonald can continue to enjoy her music and occasional TV appearances, but it seems that the days of seeing her regularly on *Loose Women* are behind her.

In the years following her exit from the show, McDonald has become a beloved figure for both her music and her candid television presence. While she may not be returning to *Loose Women* anytime soon, her loyal fans continue to support her as she embarks on the next phase of her career. Her legacy on the show remains an important part of her career, and it’s clear that McDonald values the time she spent as a panelist—but she’s content to leave that chapter behind.
