A relative of Beyoncé revealed the real reason the singer chose to “hide” her son Sir Carter from the public eye: FEAR OF REVENGE. What’s behind this choice?

Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s daughters, Blue Ivy and Rumi Carter, have become more visible in recent years, frequently appearing at high-profile events alongside their famous parents.

Most recently, they were spotted with their father at Super Bowl Sunday, drawing attention and delighting fans with their growing personalities.

However, one family member remains noticeably absent from these public outings—Sir Carter, the couple’s only son.

Sir’s absence has led to speculation among fans, with many wondering why he does not accompany his sisters to public events.

The answer, it seems, lies in Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s firm commitment to protecting their children’s privacy and allowing them to develop their own interests outside of the public eye.

A More Private Approach to Parenting

While Blue Ivy has been in the spotlight since birth—making history as the youngest BET Award winner and performing alongside her mother—Beyoncé and Jay-Z have taken a different approach with their twins, Rumi and Sir, who were born in June 2017. The twins have rarely been seen in public, with only occasional glimpses of them appearing in Beyoncé’s documentaries, Homecoming and Making the Gift.

The power couple has long been intentional about shielding their children from excessive media exposure. In a 2024 interview with GQ, Beyoncé explained that she structures her schedule around her children, ensuring she is always present in their lives. “My kids come with me everywhere I go. They come to my office after school, and they are in the studio with me,” she shared.

She also emphasized the importance of maintaining a balance between fame and normalcy, stating, “One thing I’ve worked extremely hard on is making sure my kids can have as much normalcy and privacy as possible, ensuring my personal life isn’t turned into a brand. It’s very easy for celebrities to turn our lives into performance art. I have made an extreme effort to stay true to my boundaries and protect myself and my family. No amount of money is worth my peace.”

Sir Carter’s Laid-Back Personality

Beyond the family’s decision to maintain privacy, Sir’s reserved nature also seems to play a role in his absence from public outings. Beyoncé’s parents, Tina Knowles and Mathew Knowles, have provided insight into the personalities of their grandchildren.

Mathew once noted that while Blue Ivy exudes confidence and presence, Sir prefers to stay in his own world. “Sir, he just wants his world to himself. Rumi reminds me of Solange,” he shared in a 2020 interview.

Tina Knowles echoed this sentiment in a 2019 conversation, explaining, “The girl is really just going to rule the world, and the boy is kind of laid back and chills like the dad. [Blue] is the Queen B. The second Queen B.”

She further elaborated in an interview with E! News, saying, “Sir is very quiet. He does all of the numbers stuff, so he’s not into fashion as much.” She also described him as “very, very smart,” highlighting his different interests compared to his sisters.

Jay-Z also spoke about the twins’ names and personalities in a 2017 interview on the Rap Radar podcast. “Rumi is our favorite poet, so it was for our daughter. Sir was like, man, came out the gate. He carries himself like that. He just came out, like, Sir,” he explained, suggesting that his son’s personality was evident from birth.

Limited Public Appearances

Since their birth, Sir and Rumi have not accompanied either parent to major events such as award shows, red carpet appearances, or high-profile sporting events. Their presence has been mostly limited to carefully curated glimpses in family documentaries and occasional advertising campaigns for Beyoncé’s Ivy Park brand.

The most recent public sighting of Sir came in Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé, which gave fans a brief look at the twins. However, while Rumi has started making more appearances, Sir has continued to stay out of the public eye.

Beyoncé’s Commitment to Her Children’s Well-Being

Beyoncé has previously opened up about her children’s early health challenges, revealing that her twins faced complications at birth. In an emotional interview, she recalled undergoing an emergency C-section when one of the babies’ heartbeats temporarily stopped in the womb.

In her British Vogue 2020 interview, she also revealed that she keeps beehives at her home to produce honey for its healing properties, explaining, “I started the beehives because my daughters, Blue and Rumi, both have terrible allergies, and honey has countless healing properties.”

These insights further reinforce Beyoncé’s deep commitment to her children’s well-being and her decision to prioritize their health, happiness, and privacy above all else.

Will Sir Carter Step Into the Spotlight?

With Blue Ivy following in her mother’s footsteps—performing on stage during Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour—and Rumi now stepping into the public eye, some fans have speculated whether Sir might eventually make his own mark. However, based on his personality and the family’s history of privacy, it seems unlikely that he will embrace the spotlight in the same way.

Ultimately, Beyoncé and Jay-Z have made it clear that they will let their children navigate fame on their own terms. Whether Sir Carter chooses to remain behind the scenes or eventually steps into the limelight, one thing is certain—his parents will support whatever path he chooses.
