Blake Lively’s legal team is pushing for heightened protections in her ongoing legal battle with It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni. 

In court documents recently filed and obtained by Fox News Digital, Lively’s attorneys argued for a stronger protective order, 

citing threats made against the actress, her supporters, and other individuals involved in the case.

Lively and Her Supporters Targeted with Threats

According to the legal filing, Lively, her family, fellow cast members, and individuals who have publicly supported her have received “violent, profane, sexist, 

and threatening communications.” The documents detailed one particularly alarming instance where a witness—who had publicly backed Lively

—was threatened with harm to their family unless they agreed to “make a statement and give the truth.”

The Gossip Girl star’s legal team argues that releasing certain pieces of discovery evidence could further endanger those involved. They claim it could lead to privacy violations, increased threats, and a climate of possible witness intimidation.

Baldoni now has until March 11 to submit his own proposed version of a protective order. The judge overseeing the case will then determine which version will be enforced.

Baldoni’s Legal Team Denounces Violent Messages

Baldoni’s legal team addressed the concerns raised in the protective order request, emphasizing that they do not condone threats or harassment directed at anyone involved in the dispute. In a statement to Fox News Digital, they condemned any form of dangerous rhetoric, noting that some private parties accused by Lively’s legal team had also been subjected to threats, including visits to their homes after their addresses were allegedly leaked.

“No one should have to face that, especially private parties who do not have means for security detail,” the statement read. “We do not condone dangerous rhetoric targeted toward anyone no matter the situation.”

Legal Battle Stems from Sexual Harassment Allegations

The legal feud between Lively and Baldoni first erupted in December when Lively filed a complaint alleging sexual harassment, retaliation, emotional distress, and negligence against Baldoni and producer Jamey Heath. Initially submitted to the California Civil Rights Department, the case was later escalated to federal court.

Baldoni responded in January with a countersuit, claiming that Lively had falsely accused him as a way to salvage her reputation following a controversial press tour for It Ends With Us. His legal team asserted that she had no substantial evidence of wrongdoing and instead engaged in a deliberate effort to tarnish his image.

In his lawsuit, Baldoni also accused Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, of civil extortion and defamation, seeking $400 million in damages.

New Witnesses Support Lively’s Claims

On February 18, Lively filed an amended complaint, introducing new claims that two female cast members were prepared to testify about Baldoni’s alleged “unwelcome behavior” on set. Her legal team asserts that these testimonies bolster her allegations against the actor and filmmaker.

Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, quickly dismissed the new complaint, calling it “unsubstantial hearsay” and arguing that it did not present any credible evidence of wrongdoing.
