Novak Djokovic revealed the real reason he missed the Australian Open wasn’t due to his vaccination status, but because he was “p.o.i.s.o.n.e.d…”

Tennis star **Novak Djokovic** has made a shocking claim about his health, suggesting that he was “poisoned by lead in his food”

following a period of detention during the **Australian Open**.

The assertion has sparked widespread discussion and raised further questions about the Serbian athlete’s controversial experience during the 2022 Australian Open,

when he was initially barred from entering the country over his Covid-19 vaccination status.

Djokovic’s detention in January 2022 made global headlines,

as the world’s number one tennis player was held in an immigration facility for several days after arriving in Australia to compete in the prestigious tournament.

His visa was canceled by the Australian government, citing his lack of a valid Covid-19 vaccination certificate. The incident triggered a massive legal battle that eventually saw Djokovic’s visa reinstated, allowing him to participate in the competition.

However, the saga did not end there. Djokovic, who has long been an outspoken critic of the Covid-19 vaccine, faced widespread scrutiny and was accused of flouting the rules. Despite eventually being allowed to play, the stress and controversy surrounding his visa ordeal overshadowed much of the tournament.

In an unexpected twist, Djokovic has now revealed in a recent interview that he believes his health was compromised during the time of his detention. According to the tennis champion, he suspects that the food provided to him while in custody was contaminated with lead, which he claims led to a poisoning episode.

Djokovic recounted feeling unwell during his time in the immigration facility, experiencing symptoms that included fatigue, dizziness, and digestive issues. Initially, he attributed his condition to the stress of the situation, but he now believes that the food he was given played a direct role in his health decline.

“I felt like something was wrong with my body,” Djokovic said. “I was detained for several days, and during that time, I noticed I was feeling extremely tired and sick. After further investigation, I came to the conclusion that the food I was eating had been contaminated—there was lead in it. I’m not sure how or why it happened, but I believe that’s what caused the poisoning.”

While Djokovic’s claim has raised eyebrows, medical experts have expressed skepticism about the idea of food being intentionally contaminated with lead, particularly during a high-profile detention such as his. Lead poisoning typically results from prolonged exposure to lead-based materials, not from short-term consumption of food.

However, experts do acknowledge that lead contamination in food can sometimes occur in rare circumstances, such as through the use of contaminated water or food storage methods. It remains unclear whether Djokovic’s symptoms could have been linked to such contamination, or if his claims are the result of heightened stress during an extremely turbulent time in his career.

Despite the poisoning allegations, Djokovic went on to compete in the Australian Open, eventually advancing to the final. He later revealed that his physical condition had deteriorated during the tournament, leading to concerns about his ability to perform at his usual elite level.

However, Djokovic did not use his illness as an excuse for his performance. He managed to push through and ultimately became the champion of the 2022 Australian Open, securing his ninth title at the tournament. His win cemented his place as one of the greatest tennis players of all time, though his health battle during the event seemed to remain a personal struggle.

The poisoning claim is the latest chapter in a series of controversies surrounding Djokovic’s career, particularly his stance on Covid-19 vaccinations and his detainment in Australia. His vocal opposition to mandatory vaccinations and his defiance of travel restrictions made him a polarizing figure, with some fans and critics applauding his resistance while others condemned it.

While Djokovic’s legal battles and health concerns were widely covered, this new revelation about lead poisoning has added a new layer of intrigue to his already complex narrative. Fans and commentators alike are questioning whether his experience in Australia could have lasting effects on his career and health, or if this is simply another chapter in Djokovic’s controversial journey.

As Novak Djokovic moves forward in his career, it remains to be seen how his claims will impact his public image. With the support of his loyal fanbase, and despite the challenges he has faced both on and off the court, Djokovic remains one of the most accomplished athletes in the world.

Whether or not his claims of poisoning are substantiated, Djokovic’s resolve to continue competing at the highest level is a testament to his determination. As the tennis world continues to evolve, so too will the scrutiny surrounding one of its most enigmatic stars.
